MEB Design Ltd

After several years at Churchill Square Business Centre, Kings Hill

This letter is to commend Capital Enterprise centres to you if you are looking for serviced offices. Here at Kings Hill there are seven units which were once officers' mess buildings for the RAF sited round a central area which has plenty of free parking. These have been well converted into office suites of a variety of sizes from small one person units to larger areas which can house maybe a dozen people.

In over 25 years of running our architectural practice we have had premises in several serviced office suites of which this one is, by a considerable margin, the best. The reasons are these:
• The reception is always well staffed and those running it are always ready to help in any way they can. They give visitors a warm welcome and look after things on the odd occasion when something unexpected happens.
• The area around Churchill Square is very attractive and impresses visitors. The other new blocks on Kings Hill are well spaced out and the landscaping is excellent which makes for a very good working environment.
• The offices are in good condition and are kept that way. The kitchens and toilets are kept clean and well serviced with towels etc. There are even showers for those who like to come by bike or go for a run at lunchtime.
• All the safety checks and fire escape practices are held regularly and so that side of running an office is largely dealt with by the systems that are in place.
• One of the real plusses of being here is the variety of businesses in the other offices around. We probably have worked with six or seven of our neighbours in the past three years and this has proved to be very useful.
• Just up the road there are shops including a good chemist, a supermarket, shoe repairer, dry cleaning outfit and the like. There is also a pub which does food as well as a couple of restaurants. All this means that all of us at MEB Design really like working here.
• If a company needs to up-size or down-size then this can be achieved very quickly as we have seen in this time of recession. Indeed some one man companies have moved away to work at home or whatever and been encouraged to maintain a virtual office here and thus be allowed to use the office facilities - copiers, franking post etc. as well as maintaining their business address. Also they can continue to hire rooms by the hour.

So you will gather from what I have said that we could not be more delighted with our office here and I warmly commend Churchill Square to anyone who wants a trouble free office environment. Sadly I have no financial interest in the company.

KB Recruitment

On taking space at Greenway Business Centre, Harlow

If ever there exists an example of a start-up company with confidence, integrity, and that doesn't like to hang around, KB Recruitment Ltd is it.
Co-founder and Partner Brian May set up the recruitment company just 8 days ago, having made the decision over the weekend of 25th September to "do it ourselves". On Thursday 30th September, he called officebroker.com to enquire about office space in Harlow, and went out to view a property at lunchtime.
The very next day, Brian had signed the paperwork, picked up the keys and moved in.
"We are still designing our logo and website," said Brian, just days after signing for his new office at Harlow Business Park. "Our fledgling company has been formed for 8 days, and we have been busy kitting out our lovely new office."
Explaining the story behind the creation of KB Recruitment, Brian says that the company was born out of a search for "the right opportunity", which he and Joannie had been working on for some time.
"We seem to have been thwarted at every turn, the latest disappointment coming almost two weeks ago with a promise not being honoured!" he said. "So over the weekend of 25th September we decided to do it for ourselves, and with the ethics, integrity and vision we have this has to be the right way to go."
Commenting on their new office, Brian said that the location and friendly welcome were the best things about the property. During the tour, Brian met another tenant who was very complimentary of the office, which he said "boded well".
officebroker.com's account manager for the region, Marcus Shelton, recommended the office following Brian's initial enquiry. Having helped him to organise the tour, Marcus was then pleasantly surprised to learn that Brian liked the office so much he had decided to take it - and move in the next day.
KB Recruitment is now settled in and - in typical fashion - busy moving forward with their new venture.
"A lot of hours went in over the weekend and I was surprised how busy the estate was - even on a Sunday!" commented Brian. "But even with all that going on we have managed to secure placements for 3 recruits, how good is that?"

Diamond Biopharm

John Joseph of Diamond Biopharm offered these comments on relocating to Greenway Business Centre, Harlow

“Some people are put off starting their own businesses because they fear they will be bogged down by the multitude of requirements which are needed before they can even start. Finding an office or a workshop, sorting out the rates, rent, and postage to name just a few. Find a furniture provider employ an IT consultant, deal with British telecom, order the telephone system and arrange for the fax, not forgetting the infamous broadband. Security must come high on your list of needs so organise the burglar alarm, find somewhere to park, buy or rent the dustbins and arrange for them to be emptied - so many never get onto the foot of the ladder.

At Greenway Business Centre in the new Business Park in Harlow all those problems will either go away or be minimised. You will move into a ”brand new” office or workshop to the size that you want, a very friendly management team will sort all your needs and advise you where best to buy your furniture and computers, they will supply your phones and provide a broadband service, stamp and post your letters, do your photocopying and sort your post. Parking is not a problem and you are not restricted by how many cars you can park. The reception area has a visitors book and a waiting area where visitors to your company are welcomed

There are meeting rooms available with all the modern equipment at your finger tips and if you want refreshments laid on you need only to ask and by the way there is an adequate Café within the grounds serving all types of meals and drinks from early in the morning to the mid afternoon.

There is no better way to start your business where you can concentrate making it a success leaving the vast jungle of drudgery to a well honed team of people who just want to see you succeed.”
