Croydon in Bloom Award for Capital Business Centre

Careful landscaping at the Capital Business Centre in South Croydon has won a top gardening award for the second year running. The Centre gained a silver gilt certificate of merit in the prestigious 2009 Croydon in Bloom Awards for its imaginative planting, which focuses on the extensive use of lavender.
Centre Manager Carol Matthews says the aim of the landscaping is to provide an attractive setting which complements the high quality offices, studios and workshops and integrates the Centre into the urban landscape.
She says: “Lavender is used as it provides both scent and colour for several months while the foliage gives year round interest. Our gardener has teamed the lavender with evergreens to give a high impact and low maintenance display.
“We do get compliments on the landscaping on a regular basis and we are delighted to have won another Croydon in Bloom Award.”
The green credentials at the Centre are also backed by a commitment to recycling and the company recently won an ENVIBE Bronze Award for business excellence in the storage and disposal of waste.
The Capital Business Centre is located on a self-contained site off Carlton Road and provides high quality managed workshops, studios and offices to let with space for more than 90 businesses.
