Manager of St George’s Business Park Leigh Kedwell is busy training for a marathon charity bike ride that will take him 350 miles across Northern France to raise funds for Help for Heroes. Leigh wants to line up sponsors well in advance of the ride at the end of May and so if you would like to help either contact him direct at bike@fsmail.net or speak to a Centre Manager.

As a former gunner Leigh decided to do something very practical to support Help for Heroes - the leading charity helping wounded servicemen and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

He says: “Nearly £1m was raised through the 2009 bike ride and we know we will have to work very hard to top that. I have had a lot of help already and CEC has kindly agreed support my fund raising in the coming months and to give me the week off next May.

“Support from businesses for Help for Heroes has been impressive in past years and the annual bike ride is now a big event on the charity calendar. Since we plan to end the 2010 ride at Dunkirk on the 70th anniversary of the evacuation we hope additional publicity and promotion will help us hit a record total in fund raising.”

Help for Heroes aims to provide long-term solutions to the problems faced by those with long-term injuries. The charity supplements and enhances available facilities so that those in rehabilitation get the very best care and treatment. Servicemen and women need long term support to recover from their injuries and to rebuild their careers.
