Stars of the future
11 Dec 2009
Stars of tomorrow are taking their first steps towards a bright future in stage, TV and film productions at a CEC Business Centre in Southend.
At Blah Blah Productions, a children’s and young people’s acting workshop and agency, youngsters are being helped to realise their ambitions. Already several have gained places in West End stage productions and on national television.
Blah Blah uses a converted workshop unit at the Laurence Industrial Estate near Southend Airport as a flexible rehearsal area and thinks it’s an ideal location.
Principal Michelle Taylor says that easy access, good parking and a secure environment allow acting and dancing classes and rehearsals to be run easily without any hassle.
Michelle says: “The enthusiasm of the kids is infectious and we are delighted with the success they are achieving. We show them the way to get real results and emphasise that hard work and determination are needed for success as well as some good luck.
“Above all it’s enthusiasm that we want and we can then develop the individual talents of our youngsters. We encourage everyone to aim high and to remember that Southend has produced many stars. Helen Mirren first went on stage in a school production in the town and we hope that many others can follow in her footsteps to stardom and success.”
CEC lets workshop space at the Laurence Industrial Estate on a simple monthly licence and the Estate is home to a wide range of businesses ranging from leisure to distribution and logistics. Flexible easy in – easy out terms allow businesses to set up and expand without commitment to long leases.
In addition, many CEC Centres also offer a comprehensive Virtual Service for businesses working from home and a full range of business continuity arrangements for larger companies.
