If you would like to help either contact him direct at LeighKedwell-bike@fsmail.net or speak to a Centre Manager or member of staff and they will put you in touch.

Former gunner Leigh is now about to take delivery of the bike that he will be using for the ride and is committed to building up the training mileage. He says: “I have always liked cycling but this is a real challenge and some serious practice is now needed. May will come round all too quickly and I have to make sure that I am ready.”

Leigh’s charity marathon will take him 350 miles across Northern France ending at Dunkirk on the 70th anniversary of the WW2 evacuation. Nearly £1m was raised through the 2009 Help for Heroes bike ride and the 2010 cyclists hope to match or better this target.

Help for Heroes aims to provide long-term solutions to the problems faced by those with long-term injuries. The charity supplements and enhances available facilities so that those in rehabilitation get the very best care and treatment. Servicemen and women need long term support to recover from their injuries and to rebuild their careers.
