Bumper cheque for Help for Heroes
29 Jun 2010
After a gruelling 377 mile charity bike ride St George’s Business Park Centre Manager Leigh Kedwell has raised more than £7500 for Help for Heroes.
He wrote out the bumper cheque for the charity after months of sustained fund-raising which culminated in the special Help for Heroes bike ride across northern France.
Other activities have included raffles, charity evenings and even turning his home into a restaurant with Leigh and his wife cooking and serving.
Former gunner Leigh said it had all been very worthwhile and he thanked everyone who has supported the fund raising.
He said: “Everyone has been very generous and it’s great to know that the money is going to a charity that will make every penny count.”
Help for Heroes aims to provide long-term solutions to the problems faced by those with long-term injuries. The charity supplements and enhances available facilities so that those in rehabilitation get the very best care and treatment. Servicemen and women need long-term support to recover from their injuries and to rebuild their careers.
