12.07.07 Early Business Centre Success

Strong interest in the new Milton Keynes Business Centre is being shown with businesses already reserving workspace off plan while the Centre is being constructed.

Tickford Security Systems, the latest company to pre-book offices at the Business Centre, is a leading local security business which provides alarms, CCTV and access control for major businesses and the public sector.

Director Andrew Furber says that the company plans to be one of the first businesses to move in when the Centre is completed at the end of the year.

He said: “Milton Keynes has needed a good quality Business Centre for some time and I am sure that the Centre will prove to be very popular. We were pleased to be able to pre-book offices at a location that will become a business hub for Milton Keynes.

“Tickford has some 3000 clients in the area and we provide the latest in security systems, including advanced smokecloak protection which works on the basis that if you can’t see it you can’t steal it. Our business is continuing to expand and so a well located Centre with state of the art communications was ideal for us.”

CEC Operations Director David Clapham said that considerable early interest had been shown in the Centre and regular enquiries and reservations continued to be made.

He said: “We have been delighted to see the interest shown and there does seem to be a very strong demand for quality business space available on flexible terms. In particular the easy in easy out monthly licence that we offer has proved to be very attractive.

“Construction continues to go well, with buildings now reaching roof level and we are confident that we are on track for end of year completion.”

The Milton Keynes Business Centre is being built on a site off Foxhunter Drive with an open campus style setting. It is one of the largest developments undertaken by CEC to date and will provide more than 54,000 square feet of fully managed workspace including offices, studios and workshops.

A full layout of the Centre is available on the CEC website www.capitalspace.co.uk. Businesses can reserve units on-line. Early sign-ups are rewarded with a 25% discount. Visits to CEC’s Greenway Business Centre at Harlow can also be arranged.

In addition to a full range of office, studio and workshop space the Centre will offer a comprehensive Virtual Service for businesses working from home and a full range of business continuity arrangements, all available on an easy monthly licence.
