09.03.07 Leading Architects open office at Churchill Square

Clague, a fast growing multi-disciplinary architectural partnership, is the latest of several professional practices to open offices at the Churchill Square Business Centre.

CEC Operations Manager David Clapham said Churchill Square Business Centre was very popular with professional firms and the Centre was providing a real focus for professional advice and consultancy.

He said: “Kings Hill is a major centre of development in its own right and so the demand for professional services there is high. The location of the Churchill Square Business Centre also makes it ideal for businesses working regionally or nationally, with excellent access to communications by road, rail and air.

”We are delighted to welcome the Clague team who are now playing an important role in the exciting next stage of development at Kings Hill.”

The opening of a Churchill Square office by Clague follows on from the practice’s appointment to manage a wide range of projects associated with developments at Kings Hill. A team of six will now help co-ordinate and further expand Clague’s portfolio at Kings Hill.

Clague as a practice brings together architects, interior designers, conservationists and landscape architects and the practice has offices in Canterbury and Ashford. Salaried partner Lee Batten, who heads the Churchill Square based team, said that it was a major advantage to be on site at Kings Hill and would enable the practice to deliver a more rapid and responsive service to clients.

He said: “We needed to be up and running as quickly as possible and it was ideal to be able to move into good quality offices and not to have to worry about any of the details of premises management, which were all taken care of by CEC.

“We also as architects appreciated the sympathetic conversion of the former RAF buildings and it will be a bonus to be able to hear the roar of a Merlin engine and see a Spitfire fly overhead celebrating wartime anniversaries.”
