01.02.08 Milton Keynes Business Centre Opens
Milton Keynes Business Centre has now opened and the first companies are already moving into offices, studios and workshops on the campus style development at Linford Wood. The new state of the art £8.8m Business Centre can provide accommodation for more than 90 companies with 54,000 square feet of managed workspace available.
It is the latest Centre to be launched by CEC which operates a network of Business Centres in London and the South East.
CEC Operations Director David Clapham said that there had been great interest in the development of the Centre and companies had reserved business space there up to six months in advance.
He said: “We were delighted to see the enthusiastic response to the launch of the Milton Keynes Business Centre with 17 companies ready to move in as we open for business. There appears to be a very strong demand for high quality business space in the Milton Keynes area and there is interest in offices, studios and workshops.”
CEC lets space on a simple monthly licence with an all-in-one fee that includes on-site management, maintenance, building insurance, refuse collection, security, water rates and the cleaning of common areas. Flexible easy in – easy out terms allow businesses to set up and expand without commitment to long-term agreements.
An on-site Centre Manager provides building management services and supervises administrative support, meeting room management, telecommunications, internet access and postal services. In addition to the full range of office, studio and workshop space the Centre also offers a comprehensive Virtual Service for businesses working from home and a full range of business continuity arrangements for larger companies.
Property specialist Total Lettings was one of the first companies on site having reserved space early last year. Partner Robin West said that the combination of new purpose built offices, state of the art communications and the flexibility to take additional business space as needed was a very attractive combination.
He said: “Total Lettings is a growth company and we needed to find the right base for the next stage in our expansion. The location and facilities here are first rate and the Centre will become a business hub for Milton Keynes.”
