05.10.07 Moat opens office at Greenway
Moat, one of the UK’s leading housing associations, has opened a satellite office at the Greenway Business Centre in Harlow to help manage its extensive range of property interests in the area.Moat’s East Region owns and manages more than 3,000 rented and shared ownership homes across 28 local authority areas in Essex and Hertfordshire, with a particular focus on affordable home ownership and key worker housing.
The association is an active participant in the Stansted Area Housing Partnership and is one of the Housing Corporation’s development partners. It is also the government’s appointed HomeBuy Agent in Essex.
Moat regional director for the East Region Chris Harris said that it was important for staff to be able to communicate easily with customers, partners, and contractors and that being on the spot made all the difference.
He said: “Staff will use the new office flexibly giving them an office base in the area when they need it, so the easy access to transport routes from Greenway Business Centre made it a good choice. Taking managed office space was also an advantage for us as we can focus entirely on our own core property management work and leave office property management to CEC!”
Moat plans to expand and develop further its provision of new homes across the east and south. It also aims to be a leader in raising standards in property management.
CEC Operations Director David Clapham welcomed Moat to the Greenway Business Centre and praised the achievements of the association.
He said: “We are in the property development and management business ourselves and although we operate in a completely different sector we can appreciate the tremendous challenges that Moat faces on a day to day basis. We greatly admire the work of Moat and the high standards they set in property management.”
