19.09.06 Waterhouse Business Centre Expands!
Work has started on a £3m expansion at the Waterhouse Business Centre in Chelmsford, which will provide additional managed workshop and office space for more than 20 companies.Capital Enterprise Centres is developing 18,000 sq ft of new space at the Business Centre through a major extension to existing buildings. Construction started at the end of August with completion expected in the spring of 2007.
Managing Director Peter Boam said that fast growth at the Waterhouse Business Centre had seen the space there filled quickly since its launch in 2003. He said: “We now have some 60 companies at the Centre and it is clear that we need to expand further. The new space will be built to the same high quality standards as the original Business Centre.
“We have been impressed by the strength and dynamism of the local economy and already several companies that started out on our site have grown to achieve remarkable success.”
The Waterhouse Business Centre offers a unique business environment with offices, workshops and studios in a range of sizes and suitable for almost any start up business. It offers a high level of security on a self-contained site off Cromar Way. A palisade fence surrounds the site and all access is monitored by CCTV cameras.
Recycling facilities are provided to minimise waste. Green travel to work is encouraged by the provision of bicycle storage and a shower.
Peter Boam added: “We have an on-site Centre Manager who provides a comprehensive range of property management and business support services. Everything is covered including administrative support, meeting room management, state of the art telecommunications, internet access, postal services, telephone answering, secretarial services and access to business catering.
“We offer units on flexible terms with no long term commitments for companies. Our aim is to take away any concerns over property management and allow our tenants to focus on making their businesses a great success.”
