If you’re a business owner, you’ll know the blood, sweat and tears that go into turning your dreams into reality, with a healthy P&L sheet.  That’s why we’re delighted to be supporting Harlow’s Business Awards, celebrating the achievements of the local business community.

Celebrating local business

It’s the fourth consecutive year that CapitalSpace’s Greenway Business Centre has sponsored the event, run by the Harlow and District Chamber of Commerce and  CapitalSpace  helped judge the small business category: Lorraine Lee, Greenway Centre Manager said “CapitalSpace’s ambition is to support entrepreneurs and the owners of small- and medium-sized businesses by giving them the flexible, affordable accommodation they need to meet their changing needs as their business grows.

“Our sponsorship of the small business category is a natural fit – and it’s been great to see such commitment, enthusiasm and perseverance from the finalists.  And even better to see Greenway Business Park customer MGM Clinics nominated for the Customer Care and Service award, plus former customer, Insignia IT Group, up for the Small Business award.”

Ian Hudson, general manager at Harlow and District Chamber of Commerce, commented: “We’re very grateful for Greenway Business Centre’s support of the Award Dinner over the years; they’ve been a great help working with us to determine the winners. It’s great to see their help with business development at Harlow and it’s something we encourage across all of Harlow. “

A night full of surprises

Short-listed finalists have to give a presentation to the judges, but they won’t find out if they are successful or not until the event itself, 5 October at the Manor of Groves Hotel.  “Many business award ceremonies focus on having businesses know they have won an award before they attend. We felt that this takes away from the surprise of it all and believe that it’s better to hand out the awards on the night and announce the winners then,” explained Ian.

However, all the finalists benefit from their exposure at the awards evening: “We think it’s great for the businesses involved because they can show the community and the surrounding area about their business and what they provide,” enthused Ian.

The awards categories cover:

  • Small Business
  • Website/Social Media
  • Innovation
  • Young Person
  • New Business
  • Medium/Large Business
  • Customer Care & Service
  • Employer of the Year

We’re delighted to be playing our part in supporting the thriving business community in Harlow – and are looking forward to great evening on 5 October.
