Your child’s education is one of the most important parts of their lives, so you want to make sure they get the right support. With an expert team of tutors and supply teachers, CapitalSpace customer Lasting Education, based at Churchill Square Business Centre in Kings Hill, is able to deliver tuition that pushes your child’s education further.

A wide range of personalised tuition

Lasting Education pushes the boundaries of teaching, delivering bespoke programmes tailored for each child, rather than a generic format. Founder, Steve McGill, has an impressive background in education, having taught for over 25 years, including being a deputy head, a head teacher for 9 years, a special educational needs leader and individual tutor: ‘We have a wide range of tuition provisions with primary supports, SATs preparation, 11+ preparation, secondary support and GCSE support. We are always developing an understanding of our students’ learning preferences and style to provide them with a more effective and efficient set of study and exam skills.

The perfect accommodation

Based at Churchill Square Business Centre for nearly four years, Lasting Education were attracted by our flexible, one-month rolling licence and the certainty we offer over accommodation expenses: ‘CapitalSpace have been friendly, helpful and a pleasure to work with throughout our time here. Overall, they make starting up very easy and the one-month rolling licence takes a major barrier away at the point at which you are taking the first steps into business. I would definitely recommend them.

‘Sales this year are 56% higher than in the previous year, which means we are nearly ready to scale up to a bigger office. We have started other tuition centres in village halls, with Churchill Square as the centre of operation.’

The joys of teaching

League tables often mean that schools and teachers are judged on exam results; while that is an important motivator for Lasting Education and their clients, it’s by no means the only one: ‘There are a number of reasons that we enjoy what we do: seeing repeat business from previous students or their siblings, smiles on both the students’ and the parents’ faces and of course, exam results. From 2016 to 2017, we’ve been able to get 100% success in achieving targeted grades in GCSEs and 15 out of 17 passed the 11+ with one more having a high chance of passing through appeal.’

With plans to expand their GCSE offering, introduce A level provision and provide support in new subject areas such as photography, graphics, illustration, authorship, Lasting Education look set to push their own boundaries in the coming years, as well as those of their students.
