It’s fantastic to see so many businesses taking advantage of our Laurence Industrial Estate in Southend. We are currently at full capacity – as we were for 35 weeks across last year!

The business centre has 40 units, all of which are full at the moment. It’s not hard to see why so many customers choose the centre and why they then stay on. Many say that our Southend centre has a great location as it’s easy to reach by rail, road or air. Situated close to Southend Airport, the link road to the Tesco Superstore and the A127 Southend Arterial Road, it’s ideal for customers and owners alike to get back and forth between various locations. 

Peter Boam, Founder of CapitalSpace, said: ‘Laurence is very popular, perhaps even more so recently as traffic to the airport is really taking off. During 2017 we enjoyed 100% occupancy for 35 weeks.  

‘During 2017, one customer, Rejuiced, outgrew us and moved to a much larger factory elsewhere.  We’re always sad to see a customer go but are very happy for them when it’s for the right reasons, and when we know we have been a key part in their success and in helping them grow to the point where they need larger premises than we can offer. 

‘Another customer, Rotable Repairs, is also building a bigger factory nearby. Rotable Repairs maintain aircraft wheels, tyres and brakes, hence close proximity to the airport is essential. Rotable has grown quite substantially during its time at CapitalSpace through increasing the number of units it occupies.’
