Our brand-new Building 80, providing even more offices for start-up and growing businesses in our Churchill Square Business Centre in Kings Hill, was officially opened by Tonbridge and Malling MP Tom Tugendhat on Wednesday 30 May.

Other guests at the official opening included: The Worshipful Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling, Cllr Pam Bates; Kent County Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Mark Dance; Churchill Square Business Centre Manager, Sue Billings; CapitalSpace managing director, Peter Boam, and Building 80 customers.  

Costing £3.6m, Building 80 provides additional office space for up to 30 companies of up to 10 people.  Situated in the middle of our Churchill Square complex in Kings Hill, Building 80 also includes a suite of attractive meeting rooms to complement the existing accommodation for 159 small- and medium-sized enterprises and new centralised reception facilities.

‘Small businesses are the backbone of our economy here in West Kent. I’m delighted that CapitalSpace have made this investment to provide much-needed facilities for those who need it. There remains a shortage of space locally and that’s why it is no surprise that all the offices have been filled already,’ commented Mr Tugendhat.  ‘CapitalSpace’s commitment to Kings Hill is exemplary and I look forward to continuing to work with Peter and his team as we demonstrate that Kings Hill is a great place for small and growing businesses.’

ATAG Heating Technology have taken out a unit for six within Building 80.  ‘After some time of the regional team all working from their respective homes and communicating via phone and video conferencing, we wanted to get everyone working in the same space to facilitate our operations,’ explained National Technical Manager, Sean Keleher. 

‘We looked at a number of big buildings, but just really liked the way the whole CapitalSpace office set up at Churchill Square worked. With our UK headquarters based in Scotland and a warehouse in York, the location in Kings Hill was ideal, the parking is great, there’s a good-sized kitchen and it’s useful to have access to the meeting rooms for when we want to meet with a new client or have 1-2-1 meetings with members of staff.  The local supermarket, shops and restaurants are all within walking distance, which is convenient for office supplies for tea and coffee and taking customers for a meal at lunchtime or after working hours.’ 

The Churchill Square team are delighted to welcome all our new Building 80 customers, as well as continuing to support our customers in our other buildings from their new, custom built central facilities in Building 80.
