We’re always looking to improve the services and facilities we provide for our business accommodation customers, which is why we’ve recently been doing some refurbishments across our business centres. We’re happy to announce that our latest refurbishment of offices and communal facilities at Churchill Square, Kings Hill, is going very well.

On track and minimal disruption

Work started in April 2018 on refurbishing Building 70, a Grade 2 listed, two-storey building housing 26 office suites. It is the last building to be renovated within the Churchill Square business centre community. The architects involved were Richard Hopkinson Architects who also helped on our most recent project, Building 80, and the contractors were Junction 7 Ltd.

The work, costing £500,000, has been split into six phases so customers can continue working onsite and relocate within the building, if required, to minimise disruption for them.  The second phase of the project was completed at the end of July.

Project details

When all the work is finished, it will include:

  • New fitted kitchens
  • New washroom fittings
  • Repainting and re-carpeting
  • New comms racks
  • New IT trunks
  • New comms cabinets in some offices
  • New entrance foyer and door
  • A change in layout to create space for two new ground-floor suites, bringing the total to 28 (currently, there are 12 suites downstairs and 14 suites upstairs).

The founder and managing director of CapitalSpace, Peter Boam, said: "We are bringing the building up to the standard of all the other buildings in our Churchill Square Business Centre in terms of decor and telecoms provision, moving the entrance around from Gibson Drive to where it was originally, opposite the new Building 80, and putting solar panels on the roof as part of our ongoing investment in sustainable energy."
