Our Kings Hill client, Reka Virag Kovacs of Heaven Fashion Boutique, is an entrepreneurial force to be reckoned with. In between co-directing three European food companies, mothering two toddlers and studying for a Master’s degree, Reka has found time to launch a fashion store-with-a-difference, based at our Kings Hill Churchill Square Business Centre.

Emerging into the world of fashion

Having worked hard to achieve a wealth of qualifications and with a background in running food-supply companies, Reka Virag Kovacs’s knowledge of enterprise is certainly well-rounded. Her recent shift into the world of fashion via her Churchill Square-based Heaven Fashion Boutique is the culmination of a long-awaited dream, reignited by compliments she received about her own personal style, especially in recent years.

“When I was pregnant, people would stop me in the street and say: ‘I like your dress, where is it from, can I buy it?’ I realised I had something special to offer, and this is how Heaven Fashion was born.”

As a qualified personal stylist with experience working on fashion programmes and magazines in her native Hungary, Reka offers exclusive Italian clothes and accessories at affordable prices. Free personal styling services are available by appointment, too.

Setting Heaven Fashion apart from other boutiques

Reka’s winter collection of elegantly designed dresses, coats and various sophisticated ensembles can be viewed on Facebook and Instagram, with fortnightly updates on everchanging fashions. What distinguishes Heaven Fashion from high street offerings, she says, is the additional expert advice she’s able to give her customers: “So many people have a problem identifying their style, so they wear, say, black for ease and just stick with it. I can advise them on colour and style. This is not just a shop; it is something unique.”

Juggling motherhood and entrepreneurship

With several businesses to run as well as a young family, 37-year-old Reka, who moved from Hungary to the UK 12 years ago, has to be super organised.  One of the things that makes her life easier is the fact that her Kings Hill base is local to where she lives: “Having a base at Churchill Square Business Centre is good for juggling my career with my home life – it’s close to both my home and my children’s nurseries.”

Another bonus that the Churchill Square space provides is flexibility - the space may be offered on a rental basis, but tenants can customise it just as they wish. Reka’s vision has enabled her to transform a smart office suite at Churchill Square into a sophisticated boutique, complete with blush-pink walls, an elegant sofa, private dressing area and sparkling mirrors. “It’s a lovely environment in which clients can really relax,” she says.

Highly motivated and with lots on her plate, what advice would Reka offer to would-be entrepreneurs, or those working to expand businesses they already have?  “Be well-organised and pre-planned in all areas of your life, including family and business. Do your research, understand your market, learn and then do everything as professionally as you can.”
