We worked hard in 2019 to keep ahead of the game with refurbishments throughout our business centres – everything from regular maintenance projects to our ongoing commitment to working as sustainably – as possible. We have more exciting improvements planned for this year, all designed to ensure Capital Space business accommodation customers have attractive, well-maintained and safe premises in which their businesses can grow and thrive.

Capital Business Centre

Last year, we worked hard to ensure the highest standards were maintained for our customers and their visitors. It’s not just about the cosmetics for us, but also about staying on top of the essentials. We’ve installed new drainage in the Office Village and carried out repairs to the car park. We’ve also invested in the creation of an extra meeting room to provide a compact space for interviews, small group discussions, presentations and training. But we’re not resting now 2020 is here: exciting plans include the installation of green-friendly LED lights and the phased refurbishment of our washroom facilities. The safety of our customers is always a number-one priority, which is why we’ll be upgrading our fire-detection and alarm systems.

Waterhouse Business Centre

We’re never frightened of getting our hands dirty on your behalf – after all, one of the reasons you rent space with us is so that we can handle issues such as property maintenance, leaving you to concentrate on your business. Consequently, while our customers have been busy growing their companies, we’ve cleared and cleaned all the building’s gutters, upgraded toilet facilities in our A block, decorated and replaced carpet tiles in half of our buildings, and replaced all the external bins. We’ve also fitted new cable brakes to the  roller shutters (we know how maddening it can be when they don’t work efficiently). As part of our ongoing green commitment, we have installed new green-friendly LED lights in Block B1 and B2 corridors and fitted new radiators in our studios, so our customers can stay toasty whatever the weather throws at them.

Churchill Square Business Centre

We’ve got big plans in 2020 to build on the improvements we made to our space in Churchill Square last year, improvements that included making our lobbies even more attractive, with colourful seating and additional waiting space for visitors. This year, our plans include upgrading external floodlights to LED fittings and refurbishing the kitchen in building 20.

Milton Keynes Business Centre

Having invested £70,000 last year into an extensive refurb throughout the business centre,  customers can look forward to yet more improvements in  2020, as we turn our hands to redecorating and re-carpeting communal areas.

Capital Space’s managing direct Peter Boam says: “We’re committed to making our buildings as energy efficient, comfortable, safe and practical as possible for our customers and their visitors. We’ve been really grateful for the patience everyone showed last year during those periods when improvements were made – and it’s been great to see the benefits those improvements have brought to our customers’ daily working lives. We look forward to similar collaboration as we continue to maintain and improve our buildings in 2020.”

Keeping our business accommodation centres in tip-top condition requires a rolling programme of investments – we’ll keep our customers updated about what’s happening locally through regular updates from our centre managers.
