We at Capital Space are proud of being home to some outstanding SMEs across the home counties and are delighted that one of our clients has been recognised within their sector – the care industry. The prestigious award is especially commendable in the current climate, as the care sector has been thrust into the spotlight during the coronavirus crisis. We are pleased that the facilities provided by the Greenway Business Centre has complemented the business’s growth and goals.

An outstanding home care provider

Ready Care Services provide temporary and permanent nursing, care and support staff to their clients. It is based at the Greenway Business Centre in Harlow, where it’s been for the past two-and-a-half years.

Working in a saturated marketplace, there is a lot of competition to become recognised as one of the best home-care providers within a given jurisdiction. The Top-20 Homecare Awards, does just this, compiling a yearly list of the companies within certain areas that have received the best overall feedback on the service that they provide.

“We are proud of our compassionate and professional staff”, explains Director and Registered Manager, Prashant Setia. “We feel truly honoured and appreciate this recognition. There are over 1000 care agencies in the East of England and we are committed to providing care that we would like to receive ourselves.”

Not just office space

Reaching the Top 20 Home Care list for the second year in a row is a clear standout moment for Ready Care Services. Prashant also explains how the office space provided by Capital Space has been pivotal in enabling his company to grow: “We started our company from the Capital Space office and have built up our business while based here. The front-office staff are very welcoming and always helpful. We have a separate entrance, as our care staff visit the office often. There is always plenty of car-parking available and great accessibility.”

“We will be expanding soon and will require more space. The advantage of being in the serviced office is that you can extend without moving. We were offered additional office space in the same building and we will save on marketing materials and documents, as we can keep the same address”.

Care thrown under the spotlight during the pandemic

While most industries were stretched and challenged at the height of the coronavirus crisis, the care sector was arguably in a league of its own. “The cost of PPE and training, plus lots of clients cancelling services as they feared being exposed to COVID-19 all posed enormous challenges. Coronavirus also impacted our staffing levels because some of our staff were shielding”, says Prashant, when asked about the issues his company faced.

“However, we managed well and have been able to keep our clients safe. I am so proud of our staff, who really helped our clients during this difficult time. They went out of their way to support them. They provided food; did shopping in their own time to offer extra support; and spent additional time with clients who were depressed as they were unable to see loved ones. We created an internal food bank and all chipped in, to make sure no staff member or client was left short of food.”

Prashant proudly explains how many staff were carrying toilet rolls from their own homes in their cars, just in case any clients were unable to get any when demand was at its peak at the start of the UK’s lockdown. The anecdote seems to epitomise perfectly why Ready Care Services was deserving of its prize, characterising as it does the company’s commitment to offering the best-quality care service possible to its clients.
