Wow – nine months later and we’re still unable to hold physical meetings, networking events and physical conferences with our staff, clients and potential customers. For many businesses, this is having a detrimental effect on the rapport between them and their client base or is making it hard to drum up new business. That’s why we’re thrilled that Capital Space is able to offer livestreaming events at a number of our centres, enabling enterprises to communicate virtually with their networks.

What is a virtual event?

Virtual events give businesses the opportunity to adapt their sales strategy and expand their reach beyond their geographical base, increasing their brand exposure and engaging a new audience. In addition, they offer huge savings compared to the cost of hosting an event physically.

Livestreaming events are dramatically different from a virtual meeting hosted over a platform such as Zoom or Teams, as the whole event can be produced by an expert production team, which will include techniques such as a greenscreen and on-brand graphics plus imaginative picture quality, sound and lighting, all to professional standard, as well as reliable broadband. What is more, you can make your virtual event as interactive as you like, enabling features such as polls and comments, real-time.

Clearly, such events are in especially high demand during the current coronavirus crisis, where largescale, in-person conferences and networking meetings are not allowed. That’s why we’re thrilled that Capital Space is able to accommodate such events at our business centres.

The benefits of hosting your virtual event at Capital Space

In addition to the modern meeting rooms that we have available at the five centres to host events, we’re also able to offer all live-streaming customers:

  • 100Mbps uncontested bandwidth: This will help ensure rapid, efficient downloading and uploading during the event, and make sure that your audience enjoys a smooth event from start to finish.
  • Robust failover service: Our robust failover service means that, in the rare event of a blip, your virtual event will run as seamlessly as possible.
  • Free onsite parking: We’ll be able to offer you free, spacious parking facilities on site. Our parking is also available around the clock, meaning you can host your event whenever it suits you and your audience.

What do our customers have to say?

Don’t just take our word from it, we’re partnering with some of the leading companies in the area to ensure that we can host the best possible livestreaming events for our customers. The Managing Director of events company FoxWylie, Jonny Fulton, commented: “FoxWylie have successfully moved from being primarily a live events company to providing popular, engaging virtual events. One of the biggest concerns when hosting virtual events is having a solid internet connection that will not let you down. Having worked out of the Milton Keynes Business Centre for a number of years, I was aware that they have a stable internet connection.

“As such, when we started looking into hosting virtual events it was the natural choice to set up our studio in the business centre. With two completely independent 1gb lines coming into the site, I am able to say confidently to clients that the internet will not go down. We have run events with multiple guests coming in remotely and multiple livestreams running simultaneously, and have never had a problem with the internet connection. On top of this, the staff at the site are incredibly helpful and friendly.”

The Capital Space team work quickly to accommodate live events

To be able to provide high-quality virtual events, the teams at our business centres had to move quickly to ensure the right facilities were available to the companies offering them. One of our customers, White Event Production, was able to offer livestreaming prior to the pandemic, but most of the work they undertook was physical events. They shifted focus dramatically at the start of the pandemic, however, to focus primarily on their virtual events, which couldn’t have been possible without our team. Says director, Ben Carter, “I want to say thank you to Capital Space for the prompt turnaround with upgrading our studio’s internet connection to be 100Mbps for uploading and downloading for the last- minute project that came in. Our client was a global bank and so we used our steam-vision mix system to remotely connect with presenters from different countries. This enables us to take control of what the presenter sees as they present, in addition to what we are broadcasting as the main stream.

“The resilience of the connection speed for both upload and download was key, and the standard failover guarantee was a reassurance for such a project. I don’t know what we would have done over the last few months if the internet connection was poor or heavily contended, so thank you.”
