Scheduled for completion by the end of September, our Sittingbourne site St George’s Business Park is undergoing an exciting refurbishment. The refurb will see brand new toilets installed for use by customers in Blocks B and C.

A complete overhaul at St George’s Business Park

The major works will completely remove all the existing units and will be replaced with high end ceramic tiles, sanitary bins and new fixtures. The walls will be plastered and painted along with a tiled floor. The new toilets will feature the same design as WC facilities in Churchill Square Business Centre, Kings Hill .

In addition, customers will also benefit from the centre’s first shower, which will be installed next to the ladies’ toilet in the reception building.

Tim Murray, Capital Space Facilities Manager, explained why the work was taking place.

“During the pandemic, we took a step back to understand our customers wants and needs from the communal spaces on site. We established that due to the increased number of customer-facing businesses within St George’s, it would be a good opportunity to update and modernise the welfare facilities on site to suit the needs and requirements of our customers and their visiting clients. As a business, we are committed to making improvements to every centre whenever we can, and we are very much looking forward to delivering this project for our customers.”

A change in St George’s businesses

Around 18% of all onsite businesses at St George’s are involved in the health and beauty sector with an increase in customer-facing units. This change prompted the decision to refurbish the toilets and to build the new shower.

Managing Director Peter Boam said of the changing landscape:

“The businesses we have in Sittingbourne are becoming more client-facing and require first-class facilities for their customers.”
