One of the great privileges of running a business is being able to give generously to community organisations and causes that matter to you. Each year, Capital Space, with the support of our wonderful business centres and customers, raise money for several different charities.

As 2023 quickly creeps up on us, we have asked each business centre to choose a charity close to their hearts. This will be their chosen charity for 2023 and money will be raised throughout the year to support their amazing cause. Below we share our business centre’s chosen charities.

Milton Keynes Business Centre

Milton Keynes have decided to select Harry’s Rainbow as their chosen charity for 2023. As a new customer here at Capital Space, we are delighted to be supporting them in as many ways as we can.

The charity has grown from deeply personal beginnings to a leading light in supporting families that have suffered incredible loss. The charity supports children and young people in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas, who have been bereaved of a parent or sibling. As well as providing information and guidance on their website and social networking sites, they use all their donations to provide various bereavement support services. These include regular support groups, activities and trips, and individual tailored support, when appropriate. If you would like to read more about this amazing cause, you can read Harry’s story here .

Our Croydon location has picked the MS society as their chosen charity for this year. Their work is based on the hopes and aspirations of the MS community, and they use their donations to fund ground-breaking research, provide support groups and information to those who need it. Last year they spent £5.4 million on research which was used to work towards finding treatments to repair myelin and protect nerve cells in MS sufferers.

Loughton Seedbed Centre

Mental health is more important now than ever before, therefore we are delighted to be supporting Mind in West Essex as one of our chosen charities for 2023.

The Mind in West Essex team at Loughton primarily work with local secondary schools to promote wellbeing and resilience. They usually work with the mental health or safeguarding teams within the schools and act as mental health coaches, giving young people the tools to help them with exam stress/aftermath of Covid/the impact of social media and any other problems they may have.  They also attend parents’ evenings at these schools so they can be completely accessible to students and parents.

Greenway Business Centre

PACT is Greenway’s chosen charity for 2023, an amazing organisation which provides support for families and carers of individuals within the autism spectrum. They support people with or without a diagnosis and offer a variety of services which aim to improve living, working, social and leisure opportunities for autistic people and their families. Some of the services they provide are telephone helpline support, support meetings, training services, annual events and inclusive indoor family play sessions.

Churchill Square Business Centre

Our business centre in Kings Hill will be supporting the charity Street Angels . This organisation helps the homeless, members of the community and vulnerable people of all ages in the Medway towns and surrounding areas. They use their donations to supply food parcels, to dry and wash clothing and provide bedding for the homeless. They also help members of the community with job centre and housing applications.

St Georges Business Park

St Georges Business Park in Sittingbourne will continue to raise funds for Curly’s Legacy , a charity based on the Isle of Sheppey, which is not far from the business centre. Their mission is to provide farming experiences to children, young people and vulnerable adults to support their well-being, mental health and personal development.
