Financial management is one of the most important aspects in business, but lack of confidence or time may mean that it starts to get overlooked. So, for that reason, Rashesh Joshi and his business partner Ashish Dhanda created Alexander Rosse, a Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisor business, to help support small to medium enterprises in becoming the best that they can be.

We spoke to Co-Founder and Managing Director Rashesh Joshi to gain insight into becoming one of the UKs first ‘Xero only’ practises and their tips and tricks on maintaining a thriving business.

How Alexander Rosse all began…

Alexander Rosse  was launched in 2009, during the banking crisis, by entrepreneurs who also happened to be Chartered Accountants. Their mission was to work with clients to ensure they get accurate and insightful information relating to their financial performance on a real-time basis in order to grow and operate their business to a high standard.

“We saw the challenges and problems that businesses were facing with their finances and wanted to create a service that would help business owners emotionally connect with their numbers and to support them in managing their wealth. Our mission now is to become the most sought-after sector focused digital accounting, tax and advisory firm.”

Accounting with a difference

Alexander Rosse was one of the first fully digital and cloud-based accountancy and tax practices to operate in the UK, meaning they can serve their clients from anywhere in the world.

“Our cloud-based accounting system gives our clients a clear up to date view of their financial reports, no matter where they are. It increases efficiency and eliminates unneeded expenses and paper waste. We are delighted that we are able to offer this to our clients and we are now one of the leading firms of Chartered Accountants specialising in Xero and have been awarded Xero Platinum Partner status.”

Accommodating to businesses growth

Alexander Rosse moved to Milton Keynes Business Centre in 2012 to help grow their business. The license flexibility offered across all Capital Space centres means they have recently moved into larger offices. 

“We love being located at the Milton Keynes Business Centre. The staff are brilliant, they really listen to their tenants and are helpful with any issues or queries you may have. The flexible licenses make this space perfect for a growing business like we are as you only have to give 30 days’ notice.”

Secrets to success

Rashesh Joshi offers his tips and tricks for those who are wanting to take the plunge and start up or carry on growing a business.

“You need to understand what the core purpose of your business is, what are you really trying to achieve? Without this you’ll struggle to know where your business is heading and recruit talent”

“Make sure you are doing something you are passionate about - that way you will want to work hard and achieve. Work with likeminded people and be passionate about the 3P’s – people, profit and planet!”

Milestones and the future

The team at Alexander Rosse are approaching their fifteenth birthday this year and are looking forward to continually growing for years to come.  To celebrate their recent office move, Alexander Rosse is holding an “open day” on 28th July 2023 for businesses to come along and ask their specialists questions about matters that are keeping business owners up at night, such as, for example: ‘how do we ensure we have sufficient cash in the bank to see us through the current uncertain economic climate?’ 

“Our 15th birthday is coming up in October 2023, I cannot believe our business is turning into a proper teenager! Since we started up, we have helped our clients save £50 million in tax and our clients have raised in the region of £250 million in debt and equity funding and we have also had the privilege of helping some a number of our clients achieve their ultimate goal of selling their business to the tune of well over £100m.  I am so proud of all that our team has achieved over the years and I can’t wait to see what’s to come for Alexander Rosse!”
