The 13th of September marked a special day for the Capital Space team as our Waterhouse Business Centre celebrated 20 years in business. To celebrate this exceptional milestone, we held a party for our customers as a thank you, as without them, this would not be possible. Below we share all the details of the fabulous afternoon we had, with live music and fundraising for our centre’s charity of the year.

An afternoon of celebration with our Chelmsford customers

Since the launch of our Waterhouse Business Centre, we have not only accrued a lot of achievements but also, faced some challenges; so, it felt right to celebrate with all our customers who have supported us along the way. Our party consisted of delicious food provided by Graze on the Hill , live entertainment from singer Mat Roberts and lots of hot and cold drinks, including bubbles!

Our new CEO, Lorraine Lee reminisces on her time at Chelmsford

Welcoming our businesses to the party, Lorraine Lee , recently appointed CEO, said:

“I joined Capital Space when Waterhouse Business Centre just opened and it is where I was based for the first few months of my career, so I am delighted to be celebrating its 20th anniversary. Over the years we have seen many businesses grow with us and eventually outgrow us, which is a sign that we have done our job well. We hope that we have set the standard for what you expect from business space and customer service courtesy of our Waterhouse team.”

Over £440 raised for a great local charity

Leading up to the event we held a raffle to raise money for the centres’ chosen charity – Sanctus . The charity helps the homeless, as well as vulnerable adults by providing free freshly cooked meals from its café. It’s a great charity which supported around 760 people in the last month alone.

Emma Hughes from Sanctus thanked everyone at the party for their efforts:

“Thank you for choosing Sanctus as your charity. Your support has a huge impact on us, and every penny raised will be spent in the right way.”

Building the community spirit at Chelmsford

Having events at our business centre is a great way to build a sense of community with our customers, and as a company, we enjoy spending time getting to know them in a more informal way.

As part of our celebrations, we hosted our fun business centre awards ceremony to celebrate our customers. Below we share the winners of each category who each received a special certificate and a gift:

Centre Manager, Sharon Dodson , also surprised her team by handing out gifts and certificates and thanked them for their hard work and dedication in helping to run the business centre.

Founder of Capital Space joins the party to thank customers

Founder Peter Boam , who established Capital Space 25 years ago, commented on Chelmsford’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

“Waterhouse Business Centre was our fifth centre to open back in the spring of 2003. This is a huge milestone for Capital Space, so I would like to thank everyone, particularly our customers, for your continuing support. It makes running the business an absolute pleasure.”

What a brilliant afternoon we had celebrating our Waterhouse Business Centre turning 20. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. We are delighted to have reached such a significant milestone and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Capital Space!
