Ensuring we offer the ideal workspace for our customers is a must. After all, it is where workers spend the majority of their time during the week. That is why here at Capital Space , we are constantly looking at ways to improve our business centres to create a vibrant workspace where our customers can thrive. One business centre which has undergone a big refresh this year is our Loughton Seedbed Centre . Below we share all the improvements made in 2023.

Our customer’s safety is a top priority

In line with recent upgrades in some of our other business centres, we installed electronic roller shutter doors in block A and C at Loughton, where we have our workshops sited. The shutter doors provide a high level of security and peace of mind for our workshop customers as they allow for greater protection from weathering compared to standard doors. Featuring an easy-to-use button operation system and new braking systems, these doors allow easy access to workspaces and also retain heat, improving the energy efficiency within the workshop when closed.

Boosting the business centres security

In August, we upgraded our CCTV system, replacing it with a modern IP based system. Along with this, we increased the number of high tech cameras to maximise coverage across the site. The enhanced detail and night vision provided by the new cameras aid in our efforts to safeguard the businesses, customers, and staff members on site.

Thanks again to our Greenway customer, Sigma Networks Ltd , for carrying out the installation for us.

Energy efficiency is important!

Throughout the years, it has been our mission to reduce our carbon footprint as well as our customer’s individual impact. To do so, solar panels have been installed at Loughton Seedbed Centre, by JSK Electrical Services , in buildings B and D that produce between 20,000kwh and 30,000kwh.

Solar energy is efficient, both for the wallet and for the environment, so we are delighted that our Loughton location can benefit from this. We have also introduced charging points for electric vehicles, improved the ecology of the surrounding grounds and promoted recycling.

Reducing our customers’ carbon footprint

Capital Space have always been aware of the environmental impact that businesses can have, so investing in greener energy is something we feel passionately about. A simple way we have done this is by reducing the lighting in the car park during less utilised periods across all of our business centres. As a result, we have saved 11.5kw per hour across eight of our business centres. This totals around 50,000kwh of electricity each year, which equates to 11½ tonnes of CO2 saved across the group.

If you are looking for a workspace that aids productivity, collaboration, and flexibility, please  contact us   , we would love to help.
