St. Georges Business Centre hosted another successful coffee morning today - this time, in aid of Macmillan cancer support.
The reception and the meeting room areas became informal tea room's as customers sat, ate cake and drank tea from morning until midday and beyond...
Jeanette Crockford, Centre Manager said "we're hoping to raise as much as we can, and the customers are always willing to come and have a natter - when we hold mornings like this most of the activity is based in Papa Fresco's, but we're happy to support this in the centre reception, and it gives customers an alternative if they don't have time to visit the cafe".
The cup cakes seemed to go down really well, but "best in show" was definitely the banoffee cake! - "I wish I could tell you that I made it myself" Jeanette commented, "but the plaudits for this have to go to Tony from Sterling Roofing - or at least to his wife Jan!"
Thanks to all who attended and donated - And as for the banoffee cake? To coin a very well used bakery (or should I say "cakery") quote, "It was exceedingly good"....
