When a company has a cause: proving that Hearing Matters
For many small businesses, success begins with a clear purpose, and for audiologist Samantha Fairchild, that purpose is helping people hear confidently and stay connected to those around them. Her specialist hearing clinic, Hearing Matters, has recently opened at our Churchill Square Business Centre in Kings Hill bringing a new health-led service to the community and reflecting exactly why hearing truly does matter.
The deeper impacts of hearing care

Hearing Matters is an audiology clinic based in Kings Hill offering specialist diagnostic and hearing support services for customers across Kent, including those experiencing hearing loss, tinnitus, noise exposure, or changes that may come with age. As an SME rooted in community healthcare, the clinic provides detailed assessments, hearing aid fittings, and follow-up care to support long-term wellbeing.
Samantha’s journey into launching her own small business began after a decade of professional experience. Following her graduation from the University of Manchester in 2008, she built expertise across both the NHS and specialist hearing companies before deciding to open Hearing Matters in 2021.
Her commitment to early testing shapes the foundation of her business. As she explained:
“I firmly believe that no-one should feel isolated or left out because of hearing loss. We know that left untreated, hearing loss can lead to communication challenges, social anxiety and isolation, but early diagnosis makes it much easier to address these issues effectively.”
Samantha encourages routine hearing checks in the same way people prioritise eye examinations. These play a critical role in monitoring gradual changes over time. As she put it, this is “especially important if you’re over 50, work in noisy environments, or have a family history of hearing loss.”
For business owners managing busy workloads, customer-facing roles or loud workplaces, her message is clear: reliable hearing care underpins confidence, connection and strong communication.
Fine tuning for each customer
From the beginning, Hearing Matters has been shaped around highly personalised service. Samantha’s values centre on understanding each individual’s unique experience, building trust, and ensuring technology is truly integrated into everyday life.
She shared her motivation:
“My passion is helping people to hear better. After learning about how each individual and their families are affected by their hearing difficulties, I love helping them to hear details in speech more clearly, master hearing aid technology, and learn how to build hearing aid use into their daily lives.”
Innovation is also playing a role in hearing care today. Samantha noted how artificial intelligence is transforming the customer experience:
“AI-powered hearing aids can automatically adjust to different environments, from noisy bars to cinema settings. While smartphone apps can generate live captions for online conversations and create custom settings for specific places, like your favourite café, for greater personalisation.”
This focus on evolving technology has helped the business grow since launching in 2021, attracting customers who value expert guidance, modern solutions and a warm, supportive experience.
As a small business serving the Kent community, Samantha’s approach blends clinical expertise with genuine care, a combination that sets Hearing Matters apart.
All the required amenities for a new practice
When deciding where to base her clinic, Samantha sought a workspace that balanced professionalism, accessibility and flexibility. Churchill Square Business Centre offered everything she needed.
She shared why she chose this location:
“Churchill Square offices provide a smart and professional environment which is ideal for clinical businesses like mine. Free parking, easy access for people with reduced mobility, and friendly staff were also big attractions.”
For SMEs like Hearing Matters, flexibility is essential — which is why the Capital Space easy-in, easy-out monthly licence supports growth without long-term commitments.
Samantha also values the wider business support available across the centre. Visitors can meet her in a professional environment, with additional conveniences such as onsite meeting rooms for consultations and collaboration.
She added: “I was delighted to move into my new space at the end of August and I’m really looking forward to inviting people along. It will be a great opportunity to meet new people where I’ll be demoing the latest hearing aid technology, answering any questions, and helping visitors get more familiar with their ear drums.”
With accessible facilities, helpful staff and a business-friendly environment, the Kings Hill centre offers an ideal foundation for a growing health practice.
Passion paves the way
Looking ahead, Samantha aims to grow the business by strengthening community connections across Kent. She recognises the power of communication not only in clinical care but also in building awareness, from social media and advertorial features to networking with local groups.
As Samantha shared:
“For me, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone regain their confidence through better hearing, enabling them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives – and moving here feels like the start of the next exciting chapter.”
Her story shows how passion and purpose can build a successful small business, and how the right workspace empowers that journey.
