What’s it like to rent a studio with Capital Space?

Posted by Sharp Minds on 14th April 2026, 8:45am

When searching for a new studio for your business, finding the physical workspace is relatively easy; it’s creating an environment that feels warm and welcoming as well as professional and efficient that’s the hard bit. However, it is precisely what our amazing centre management teams excel at. But don’t just take our word for it – we’ve pulled together a round up of feedback from our customers. And they can’t speak highly enough of our centre management teams across all our business centres.

What is a studio?

At Capital Space, we define a studio as a versatile, “mid-way” business accommodation solution. It is designed to be more robust than a standard office but more refined than a traditional workshop. Essentially, it is a high-specification, blank-canvas space that can be adapted to suit a wide variety of professional needs.

Unlike a standard office, which is typically carpeted and designed for desk-based work, a studio often features more durable flooring and can accommodate light equipment, stock, heavier footfall, or creative setups. It provides the “clean” environment of a professional business centre while offering the physical flexibility required by businesses that do more than just sit at a computer. Our studios are part of our modern, managed environment where the heavy lifting: maintenance, security, and facilities, is handled by us, leaving you to focus on your business success.

What types of businesses need a studio?

The beauty of a studio lies in its adaptability, making it a popular choice for a diverse range of SMEs and entrepreneurs. Because it bridges the gap between different types of workspaces, it appeals to:

  • Creative Professionals: Photographers, videographers, and graphic designers who need controlled lighting and room for equipment.
  • Health and Wellness Practitioners: From sports massage therapists to private yoga or Pilates instructors who require a professional, tranquil space for clients.
  • Technical and Light Assembly: Small businesses involved in electronics repair, 3D printing, or light assembly that require a clean, bright environment.
  • E-commerce Entrepreneurs: Online retailers who need a professional office presence combined with space to manage inventory and packing.

For many, often creative or technical professionals, moving into a studio marks a significant step towards achieving a better work-life balance, moving away from the kitchen table, allowing them to separate work from home, and present thier business in a space that commands respect from clients and partners alike.

Can I customise my Capital Space studio?

We understand that your workspace is an extension of your brand. That is why we allow you to personalise your unit to reflect your brand identity. You can decorate your space, provided you obtain written permission from our reception team beforehand. We only ask that when you eventually move on, the unit is returned to its original condition.

What sets Capital Space apart is our priority for flexibility above all, through our easy-in, easy-out monthly licence. Here’s what that means for your business:

  • Monthly Licence: Our notice period is just one month, regardless of how long you have occupied the space. This flexibility supports agile business success by ensuring you are never locked into a commitment that no longer serves your needs.
  • One month minimum stay: since our notice period is just a month, and you are free to move out whenever you please, you’ll never be stuck serving out the remainder of a lease.
  • No additional costs: We include all the necessary business support services within our licences, including: superfast internet, free parking, reception, cleaning and handyperson services, electricity and heating. We believe that this allows businesinesses to be more flexible, without having to worry about unexpected costs.
  • Sharing Space: While only one business can be named on the licence, workspace sharing is permitted. The named licence holder remains responsible for ensuring all activity complies with our policies.

 Capital Space studio reviews

Our community of small businesses is at the heart of everything we do. The feedback we receive from business owners across the Southeast highlights the “warmth” and “professionalism” that our business centres provide.

Capital Business Centre in Croydon has become a vital hub for local organisations. For one hearing loss charity, the move was transformative. Vanessa, who championed the move to a serviced environment, recalled: “From our first visit it was like a warm hug.” She noted that the move made life significantly easier for the charity, as they no longer had to worry about utility bills, refuse collection, or facilities management. You can read more about their experience at Capital Business Centre here.

Longevity is a hallmark of our centres. Karen, the owner of Pure Movement Pilates, has been a customer at Capital Business Centre for over 12 years. She said: “I like it, my clients love it. The team are really good, and really helpful and it feels like a community. I feel comfortable and my equipment is safe here.” Her story is a testament to how the right studio space can support a business through over a decade of growth.

In Harlow, Greenway Business Centre provided the necessary security for former customer Kirth Noel to take his creative business to the next level. Moving from a home-based setup to Greenway Business Centre allowed Kirth to separate his professional and personal life. Kirth said: “The business centre is in a great location and the flexible license was a massive selling point for me… the fact you only have to give 30 days’ notice was very reassuring for me.” He added that having a dedicated space at Greenway meant he no longer had to invite clients into his home, which felt “a lot more professional.” You can see how Kirth uses robot technology in his studio here.

Renting a studio with Capital Space offers the perfect blend of professional flexibility and a supportive community, allowing you to focus entirely on your core business goals.
