Business Centre improvements across the Southeast
If there’s one thing Capital Space customers know about our business centres, it is this: they are a constant work in progress. We keep it our mission to consistently update and upgrade our services, infrastructure and facilities to provide SMEs across the Southeast with efficient, productive and welcoming office spaces. This month is no different – here’s the latest investment in our centres to help you and your business thrive.
Greenway Business Centre, Harlow
At Greenway Business Centre in Harlow, a major upgrade will keep customers warm and comfortable this winter. A brand-new gas boiler has been installed, replacing the ageing system that “limped through last winter”, according to Centre Manager Carole Rice. She said:
“It will be great to have more reliable and energy-efficient heating for customers this winter.”
The £18,000 investment improves energy efficiency and comfort for businesses, supporting customers’ ESG and sustainability goals.
Greenway is also getting a refresh in its communal areas, with four new kitchens due to be installed across blocks A, B and D by the end of the year. Carole said:
“The kitchens are due to get a bit of a facelift and will benefit from an attractive, modern design.”
These improvements will create welcoming spaces for customers to relax, recharge and connect with other businesses in the centre.
Loughton Seedbed Centre
Connectivity has been given a major boost at the Loughton Seedbed Centre, thanks to a full upgrade of its fibre optic cabling to 1Gb capacity. All customers now benefit from faster speeds, while those with high-data demands can choose our enhanced internet service.
This enhanced package is designed for SMEs using more than 200Gb of data per month per unit over six consecutive months, offering unlimited downloads and uploads with speeds of 100mbps for £250 + VAT per month.
Centre Manager Carole Rice said:
“Our internet upgrade will put us on a par with the other centres.”
This is ideal for businesses using cloud applications, video conferencing or large data transfers — ensuring your serviced office stays connected at all times.
Waterhouse Business Centre, Chelmsford
At Waterhouse Business Centre in Chelmsford, £11,000 has been invested to transform the landscaping and planting around the outdoor picnic area opposite the onsite café. Centre Manager Sharon Dodson said:
“There was a lot of brambles and weeds and it was really overgrown. It’s now been replanted and was beautiful this summer. Customers and visitors have given positive feedback and said how lovely it looks.”
The refreshed green space is now a favourite spot for informal meetings and catch-ups during the summer, offering a pleasant alternative to booking one of our meeting rooms.
St George’s Business Park, Sittingbourne
At St George’s Business Park in Sittingbourne, Centre Manager Jeannette Crockford recently celebrated her 10-year anniversary with Capital Space.
“After 10 years, St George’s definitely feels like my centre but there are some customers who have been here longer than me!” she said.
With all offices, studios and workshops currently occupied, the business park is home to a diverse mix of small businesses and entrepreneurs. Jeannette noted that over the last five years there’s been a noticeable rise in SMEs in the health and aesthetics sector, while the number of recruitment agencies has declined, reflecting changing local business trends.
Our continual investment in technology, energy-efficiency and customer facilities helps create productive, comfortable and future-ready workplaces for SMEs across the southeast
