Capital Space doubles charitable fundraising to over £10,000
We’re delighted to announce that we doubled the charitable fundraising across our business centres in 2025. Giving back to the communities we support is central to the ethos of Capital Space, so it’s fantastic to see how our centre management teams and customers have embraced this – and how they are carrying this forward with new charities in 2026.
2025 charity fundraising hits a new record
Our workshop, studio and office small business customers across our nine business centres got behind our fundraising efforts for local charities with enthusiasm in 2025, helping us more than double our 2024 total of £5,523 to £10,988 last year.
Churchill Square Business Centre in Kings Hill raised an amazing £2,464 for Spadework, which enables people to be more independent, feel less isolated and live happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives. The money will help them provide services to adults with learning and other disabilities, people experiencing problems with their mental health and those living with dementia.

Waterhouse Business Centre in Chelmsford raised £2,000 for Basics Essex, an emergency health charity whose highly trained volunteer doctors and paramedics respond to incidents at the request of East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, supplementing the service provided by ambulance clinicians.
Greenway Business Centre in Harlow was inspired to raise £813 for Butterfly Effect Wellbeing, which provides accessible, non-judgemental mental health support for individuals experiencing mental ill health and suicidal ideation – especially those facing long NHS wait times or feeling isolated.
Capital Business Centre in Croydon raised £668 to help Croydon Animal Samaritans provide shelter and homing for neglected cats, dogs and rabbits in the South London and Surrey areas.
Milton Keynes Business Centre was motivated to raise £334 for Harry’s Rainbow for its valuable work supporting bereaved children.
Loughton Seedbed Centre opted to support Essex Dementia Care. The £325 they raised will go towards helping people with dementia to maintain an active and social lifestyle.
2026 nominated charities

Our community fundraising is due to continue in 2026, with three of our business centres to date having named their new charities.
The Shelter MK, one of our onsite customers, is the chosen charity for 2026 and 2027 for Milton Keynes Business Centre. Senior centre manager Matt Roberts said: “The charity supports homeless people and they happen to be based here and have grown with us. They upgraded their office, and it’s nice that we have been able to help them with that. We have already started the ball rolling as we asked our customers to donate food items at Christmas, and we can’t wait to support the charity further this year.”
Sharon Dodson, centre manager at Waterhouse Business Centre, said of their chosen charity: “We had four charities nominated but the majority of our customers wanted Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
“One customer in particular was really thrilled – Lauren Cook-Abbott from education recruitment agency Clearly Education Ltd. She explained that her partner had a serious accident and had to be airlifted to hospital. If it hadn’t been for the air ambulance, he would not be here today, and their son would not have a dad. So, it absolutely feels right because we already have a personal connection to this charity, who do such critical, life-saving work.”
Greenway Business Centre are this year supporting Rainbow Services, which works to alleviate the effects of disadvantage, deprivation and social exclusion through imaginative projects that support, enable and develop people and organisations in the local community.
“I just wanted to also send my heartfelt thanks to everyone at Greenway Business Centre. Thank you so much for choosing us as your charity of the year for 2026. This is amazing, thank you!” said Sharon Summerfield, Chief Executive Officer.
Here’s to 2026 being another bumper year supporting these amazing charities which do such invaluable work in our communities around Essex and Buckinghamshire.
