Introducing Matt Roberts
Matt Roberts is the Senior Business Centre Manager at Milton Keynes Business Centre, part of Capital Space’s network of serviced offices across the Southeast. With a background in hospitality, leisure and commercial property spanning over 20 years, he has been an integral part of the Capital Space team since 2018, when he joined as a business centre manager,
Matt recently earned recognition for his work at the most recent SME National Business 2024 Awards, where he not only presented, but also won a Silver Business Leader award. The centre itself has been celebrated too, winning Gold in the Business of the Year (less than 50 Employees) and Silver for Best Enterprising Business at the SME MK and Buckinghamshire Business Awards 2025.
Matt has recently taken on his current position as Senior Business Centre Manager, bringing his award-winning expertise to all of the SMEs that call Milton Keynes Business Centre home.
8:30am: what’s on the agenda for Matt?
Matt kicks off the day by scanning his inbox for any overnight updates or urgent requests from customers. Top of the to-do list? Sending a tailored unit proposal following a recent office viewing, all part of helping growing businesses find the right workspace fast. With several items raised in yesterday’s team meeting, Matt updates the weekly schedule, plans out key tasks, and makes sure the rest of the team is fully in the loop.
10:30am check in
With the morning in full swing, Matt turns his attention to customer enquiries. He checks for updates from the centre support team and sends a tailored office proposal to a potential customer, offering suites that match their specific requirements.
He also takes the time to assess new enquiries and reviews the condition of AV equipment, ensuring Capital Space’s meeting rooms continue to meet high standards. By mid-morning, things are moving and so are the businesses he supports.
12:30pm check in
After finishing setup of the new phone system and delivering refresher training to the team, Matt meets with the electrical contractor to address recent issues flagged during testing and regular maintenance checks, including CCTV power and emergency lighting batteries.
A quick walk-through Linford Wood during lunch offers a welcome moment to recharge; a unique benefit of working in such a green location. Energised, Matt returns to coordinate potential internal moves that will help one customer expand and another meet new space requirements. It’s a win-win solution made possible by Capital Space’s flexible monthly licence.
2:30pm check in
The afternoon brings more proactive management. Matt signs off invoices and confirms arrangements with a new cleaning contractor.
Our Milton Keynes customers’ businesses are clearly thriving, so Matt meets with another customer planning to expand. He also contacts people on the waiting list about offices becoming available in August. View available space here.
