A day in the life of our multifaceted marketing manager, Tina Edwin
To be a marketing manager is to wear many hats, and Tina Edwin, our marketing head, only proves that sentiment . From her base in our Churchill Square Business Centre in King’s Hill, watch how Tina is able to jump from a designer to a strategist to a merchandiser with expert precision and flexibility.
Introducing Tina Edwin

Tina Edwin joined Capital Space in 2018 and has become an essential figure in promoting our flexible workspaces and business services. Operating primarily from the Churchill Square Business Centre in King’s Hill, her role is incredibly broad, encompassing collaboration with centre managers across the group, coordinating networking events, and managing digital marketing initiatives.
With a professional background in journalism, Tina possesses a natural curiosity that makes her the perfect person to tell the stories of our customers and express our company values. She is driven by a desire to understand what motivates every entrepreneur and business owner she meets. Her work has been instrumental in maintaining high occupancy levels across the group; a significant feat given that SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) make up 99.9% of the UK business population and face ongoing economic shifts.
8:30am what’s on the agenda for Tina?
Energised from my early morning gym workout, I start my day at Churchill Square Business Centre by reviewing my to-do list and setting my priorities. With multiple marketing projects usually running at the same time, staying focused is essential for me.
I begin with a quick scan of our website to ensure everything is functioning perfectly, followed by a review of our Facebook and LinkedIn feeds to look for engagement opportunities with our small business community. I also make a note to share our latest blog post, produced by our agency Sharp Minds, on our Facebook page. Later this morning, I’ll be planning content strategies with Siobhan, the director, to ensure our messaging really resonates with the diverse businesses we support.

By mid-morning, with an essential cup of coffee in hand, I settle into the creative side of my role. Today, I am pulling together promotional posters for our shredding and cleaning services: just a small part of the business support we extend to our onsite owners.
Once those are finished, I’ll start designing an advert for the next “Ladies Who Latte” networking group at Capital Business Centre in South Croydon. Hosting these sessions gives me so much satisfaction; it’s powerful to see small business owners talking honestly about their challenges in a safe, friendly space.
My computer just pinged, meaning it’s time for a Teams call with a marketeer from an accountancy firm who wants a speaker slot at one of our Business Growth events at Churchill Square Business Centre in Kings Hill. We discussed the logistics and she’s signed up. Fantastic!.

When lunchtime rolls around, I typically enjoy a brisk 30-minute stroll to soak up some nature in Mereworth Woods, which is right on our doorstep. With the weather warming up, I am grateful that many of the Capital Space business centres have easy access to beautiful outdoor spaces.
Back at my desk, I shift into “supplier mode”. Our supplier, Style Brands, has confirmed that 600 new eco-friendly bamboo pens for our meeting rooms are now in production.
Managing branded merchandise is more complex than it sounds!. I can be asked to create anything from corporate stationery and external signs to boiler stickers. Each item has to strike the right balance between purpose and our brand identity. I’m also spending some time signing off on invoices and making notes for a cross-company meeting next week where we’ll brainstorm new ideas to boost revenue and efficiencies.

I’m devoting the afternoon to writing new FAQ content for our online meeting room pages and updating floorplans for a few newly vacant units. While doing this, I received a great email from Matt Roberts, the manager at Milton Keynes Business Centre.
We’ve been shortlisted as finalists in both the Horwood House Service Excellence and the Kimble Solar Sustainability Awards at the SME Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire Business Awards! Preparing these submissions can feel like shooting in the dark, so I’m delighted. With the awards night less than two weeks away, I’m already coordinating which staff members can attend and arranging tickets so we can guarantee our seats. We’re all crossing our fingers that we can repeat last year’s success when we scooped two awards.

As the afternoon winds down, I’m finishing up the digital updates for our workshops and studios at the Loughton Seedbed Centre. It is crucial that our digital pathways remain intuitive for any SME seeking a new professional home. I’ve also been reviewing analytics with our website partners to ensure our listings reflect real-time availability and that our content is fully optimised for prospective customers.
I end my day exactly where I started: by updating my to-do list. Crossing off tasks makes me feel happily productive, though the feeling is always momentary as the list inevitably expands for tomorrow!
Overview
What I love most about my role at Capital Space is the blend of high-level strategy and genuine human connection. One moment, I’m deep in data and analytics, and the next, I’m crafting something creative or chatting with a business about a potential partnership. The diversity of these tasks is why I enjoy this role so much.
I’m never simply filling units; I’m nurturing a business centre environment where communities can grow and feel supported.
