CapitalSpace St George’s Business Park in Sittingbourne has been providing support for charity League of Friends for the past year. On 30th June, the nominated charity donated a rowing machine to the physio department at Sheppey Hospital.

League of friends has been supporting Sheppey Hospital for over 40 years and was set up to raise funds to

buy medical equipment for patients and staff that wasn’t provided by the NHS. Over the years The League has generously donated more than £100,000 to the hospital by holding summer fetes, strawberry teas and coffee mornings with the occasional random donation by members of the community.

With the goal of keeping people fit at the hospital, the £1,060 piece of equipment was presented to trainer Murray Allen of the physio department by Margaret Blee, who chairs the hospital’s League of Friends. The funds to buy

the equipment were raised by holding quiz nights and selling tickets for their Christmas raffle, along with a donation of over £220 from St George's Business Park, raised by holding a strawberries and cream day in the centre.

It’s always lovely when the community comes together to support others and St George’s Business Park is proud to back the League in their excellent work. Anyone who would like to donate to Sheppey Hospital’s League of Friends can call Mrs Blee on 01795 877897.
